Strzeminski was a Polish typographer. He was interested in the experiments in simplifying the alphabet under way at the German Bauhaus, especially the work done by Bayer. In 1932 he created a type system he called Komunikat. A mere 75 years later, I made it into a font. It has basic punctuation but no numbers (yet). I changed a couple of characters for the sake of legibility and created a new x. TrueType download is here: http://www.kolumbus.fi/stephenb/SBStrzeminski.ttf ![]() ![]() My free fonts www.utfi.net

Vittu. OK, try it now. I uploaded a slightly "improved" version with a slightly different name and didn't remember to alter the filename here. My free fonts www.utfi.net

Just for fun. The fonts I've done so far are missing most of the characters I don't need and I can't be bothered with the time-consuming aspects of font design like kerning-pairs. So I don't really think anyone would be happy about paying for my fonts. But they're OK for grungy display fonts! There's another one of mine available here: newsiren (1) - Abstract Fonts - your type - 10 000 Free Fonts My free fonts www.utfi.net

Yeah, that's me all right. Stehvelo. Steppana. Steveb. The Winky Wanky Bird from London. I have many names. And here is a proper link to that font. www.kolumbus.fi/stephenb/newsiren.zip As for work - I'm currently unemployed. I had my own company for 15 months which was supposed to specialize in restoring old and damaged photos. The need is there but the demand is not! So I terminated the company on April 30th. I have done computer graphics since 1986 when it first became possible on an 8-bit machine for video. I have 12 years experience as a video editor and vision mixer for tv productions. I speak half a dozen languages, do freelance translation work from Finnish into English, throw common or garden websites together, and know how to make sure photos get reproduced in print the way they should (prepress). Creative typography is just a hobby. And yet I can't get a job because - shock horror - I'm 54. But my mindset is about 25! In fact, with one exception, I don't have any friends older than me and a lot of them are about 20 years younger. I'm sort of pissed off with prospective employers' attitude, but hey! Fuck 'em! It's their loss - that's what I think! My free fonts www.utfi.net
