This is a headline font from the SF Chronicle. I need to create a newspaper layout but cannot find the exact font.

It is VERY close to Helvetica Neue but that is not it!

you are right, the closest i could find was Helvetica compressed black... But the lower case "g" is different, slightly!!... Do you need the exact font??... How come?

It is for school assignment, and my teacher will kick my ass if i don't use the exact same font.

school as in High School???....
Use Helvetica compressed black, the only other way is just ring the paper. Speak to the Art Director and ask what the Font is, explain its for a school project and they'l tell you... No Big Deal. There is probably his/her email address in the mast info of the paper... it would take to sec's
