i do that all the time.. when the misses goes on business trips around europe and asia i get her to take photos of signs and shit. Shes pretty good now at knowing what i want....

Glad it's not just me - must try and get the missus to help instead of whinging... bribe?

I'm fast becoming a type junky - this all goes into Picasa so I can use them for inspiration when pulling together layout and logo comps.

Right on. Taking pictures of found type is a great way to get inspiration. I've found some great type inspiration in old micro-breweries and restaurants.

It's not quite hand-painted but most likely hand-to-mouse made so check out BuroDestruct's typotown but also the rest of their work :-)
