Hi everyone, I have kind of a technical question. I was wondering how to wrap text so that type radiats from a point (like rays of sunshine to be a bit pithy). I did a mock to show the effect I was going for: http://img82.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mockup3hn.jpg I made the mock up above by making individual lines of type and rotating them around a point in illustrator, but I wanted a more precise way of doing this. Is there a way to wrap the text or attach it to a path so that I can use leading/line height to create this same effect? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! Type Question in Illustrator
Make a line with the first point originating in the center and the other point wherever you want the text to end. Convert the line to a text path by clicking on it with the type tool and type something in. Position the cursor at the beginning of the sentence and hit the tab key once. You next will set the space of the tab so that the sentence starts where you want it to (look up the tabs feature if you are unaware of how to do this). Then copy the text and paste in front as many sentences as you need. Using the open arrow select tool, highlight the end point one by one and move each line to where you want them to be and change the text each time you do so. The lines should all be equally spaced and all rotating around the same point. That should do the trick. |
