Caps. (Obviously not to scale here, x-hight would match lower case, ect...)

I know when I make the font, I won't get the varying shades of grey, unfortunetly, but what do you make of the design?

Grunge?

Nah mate, it's a mix of a traditional hand-drawn typeface, against the coldness of a sans-serif clean font. This is early on, is to be drawn in Illustrator to be block colour. Why do you think it's "grunge"?

It's definetly not grunge. It's far too fragile to be grungy. Would it help if you saw it in context?
