You like my chin nuts don't you?

On a serious note, what has pushed you to aquiring Final Cut? Excellent program...I have yet to use Motion, but I'm glad Apple finally made an After Effect replacment.

Are you not keen on After effects?

Not sure if Apple Motion will ever replace AE as industry standard. Certainly not close at the moment anyway. Haven't used Motion myself, but I've seen a couple of demos.

Mr Mik> why motion over AE?

I always always wanted to learn after effects but I always considered it as one of those programmes that takes total dedication to get anywhere with it.

Bit like being a good 3d modeller, Ive had it sitting on my desktop for ages.

not at all. AE is pretty easy. In fact its a piece of piss really when you compare it to learning some of the 3D aps.
If you know photoshop and flash you're sorted. There isn't any new concepts to get your head around. (like say... Polygons & nurbs in Maya )

with AE there is a 3D space available to use, which was kinda new for me, but its very primitive 3D (Which is one of the reasons I like it..because after effects 3D doesn't look like highly polished CG)
Anyway, the 3D aspect is pretty easy to understand once you're familer with the interface.
but for the most part its moving stuff around with keyframes like in flash, using layers which are really similar to PS and also applying effects like you would in PS.

One of the best things about AE is that you can throw anything at it. You can bring in video, mp3s, psds, illustrator files, jpgs, image sequences. chuck em all in the same composition. Plus no worrying about file sizes like with flash.

ok, now im tempted.

Il have to put pen to paper and see if I can think of anything worth making. ive tried to find tutorials before but so far I havent found anything worth writing about. Perhaps a new book might be in order.

Saying that I never used a book for flash, photoshop or illustrator.

I certainly doubt it. Not everyone uses a Mac. They're not worth the cost.

Unless they release it for PC - if so, then I'll shut my mouth and go back in my cage.
