Well, if you look at the videos, they saw ythe water coming in from far. Yet they just stood there waiting. It seemed liek they didn't think it was that serious. I guess you really can't tell until it hits you.

nobody's gonna be thinking it was anything as bad as it was....

I watched a documentary on Channel 4 or 5 last year - that was all about what might happen if an large earthquake happened out at sea...tsunami's, wooden huts, devastation etc ...I remember thinking "that would be mad, wouldn't it ?"

Didn't expect to see it happen though.....well you don't, do ya ??

What's next ? The Jupiter Menace ?? Big Fuck Off asteroids ......Hmmmm

Im finding it rather annoying, all the celebs in the papers saying how much theyve donated; On the news all the time who's given what, to the cause. Its good work that everyones donating so much - but no need for all the back slapping.

I know what you mean - Schumacher’s given more than double what any uk company has, which is interesting, but it shouldn't really turn into a contest.

The whole 3 minute (silence) debate is ridiculous as well, fair enough, make all silences the same, no one can quantify how tragic any event is with a different amount of minutes, but arguing the toss is pathetic, everyone should spend some time thinking about it, a simultaneous silence is fair enough but I don't care how many minutes or seconds is legitimate, just have a think.

Rant over.

Agreed.
It is turning into a back slapping exercise - "how great are we ? see how much we're doing for the victims" etc.... shame that the Sudan victims are on the back burner.....our own homeless etc....

Bill Hicks was right - we could sort out all the worlds problems if we weren't hell bent on checking out Mars, or developing weapons.....

They are all running around laughing like its fun or something.
The real shame of it all is that they were told that something similar would happen but yet their monitoring folk thought we were lying (apparently)
