boring and concept-less, this movie just does not work, 31 August 2007

Author: Balazs Csaszar (balazscsaszar@yahoo.com) from Hungary

I loved Tarantino. I idolized Tarantino. When one magical piece came after the other I thought he was going to have an immaculate career as the most definitive director of new-age American movie-making. A career without flaws, a life-long fertility with no slowing down, no wobbling and hobbling. Very naive of course, but that is how we tend to think when we are touched by something new, something wonderful. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown left nothing to desire. Whereas, they might have set the standard so high it was impossible to keep up with. I already sensed a little bit of weakening with Kill Bill, but never would have imagined the next one was going to be pure waste. But this was how I felt last night after having seen 75 minutes of Death Proof. Then, I did what I very rarely do, walked out.

Death Proof looks shit. Kill Bill wasn't up to much. Tarantino's disappeared up his own arriss.

Grindhouse - lots of talking but the latter part is well done.

Most definitely.
I'll be seeing AvP2 tomorrow (happy Xmas film ...hope it's better than the crap-pot they made of the first). Might add I am Legend if there's nothin' better to do.

Watched I am Legand tonight. I liked it Will Smith was great in it, but over-all the film wasn't long enough, I felt as though there could have been a bit more. The day scenes were also far better then the night scenes.

Land Of The Blind - much better than it's shitty imdb retard rating implies - just watching for the third time.

I finally saw I Am Legend last night...I liked it mucho. I've heard complaints about all the CG, but it worked -- not your average zombies, to be sure.

I'll have to check out the original and original original, too.

I liked I am Legend. It was good. Somewhat different from the book though. They were vampires in the book, and stakes and garlic screwed them up!

Yeap another vote for I am Legend. Wasn't too sure about it at first... but gave it a chance and enjoyed it very much.

A film I want to go see is The Golden Compass.
