Finally Saw:

The Departed

Babel

Neither blew me away, and I don't see all the fuss about The Departed.

The departed was nothing special, but everyone said it was the best thing ever

Pretty good. Usually can't stand Tom Cruise

watch a few over the weekend.

the departed - good, great story, well thought out
wicker man (remake) - utter pish ... can't belive i wasted my time watching some of it!
v for vendetta - enjoyable, thought it would be crap but not bad action entertainment

The Black Dahlia -- a bit drawn out for my taste. Worth a rental, I guess.

I watched that recently and found it really annoying. I mean that guy looked older than 23 - he had more forehead lines than she did, so from the outside they looked ok as a couple..also the bit where she asked him what he usually did on a Friday night before he met her? and he took her to one of his mates house partys and not once did she say - looking around, "I feel old". I'm 26 and one of my mates 43, whenever I take her out to my end of town - it's the first thing she says. Also they had chemistry, how often does that come around? and at the end they just walked away...

..ok ..I know..I know..it's just a movie!

I also watched The Illusionist last week! I really liked it.

Excellent writing, great acting (as expected from a Marty flick), intriguing plot, and it was filmed well. Definitely shows the master's handiwork.

What more do you want?

Interesting characters, good story. Was a tense film, well made and all, but no Goodfellas.
