I didn't care for Donnie Darko. Found it quite boring, pseudo-intellectual/philosophical pretentious bullshit - kinda like the Matrix, but not as bad - but I didn't hate it. I'd watch it again. |

Well, I'd seen it before, first off. And also, it's certainly horrific, but it takes a lot to turn my stomach. And some things will do me in and others won't. Like, I could never watch Saw. I saw (harhar) the previews and that thing about cutting off one's own foot (not a spoiler since it's in the preview |

Speaking of horrific, I'm debating about seeing The Hostel. If it's truly as fucked up as I've heard, it will make Saw (which I saw) look like a children's movie. |

Not sure I agree with the boring bit. Saw it last night. I thought it was pretty much end-of-the-seat stuff. Far too long? I thought it was well-paced. A bit sore on the a**e sitting that long on a cinema seat though but worth the 3 hour visit. Also it is too easy to throw the 'Jurassic Park Rip-off' at any film with Dinosaurs now. The original Kong did dinos before Dickie was in diapers!! I loved Jackson's take on them. The nods to the original movie were applaudable. The Anne/Kong love bit was a bit overstated for my taste but, all in all, I thought it was a very good movie. |
