Predators

Can't believe no one has started a thread on this yet.

Predators Movie

Trailer is out soon, but on the site you can watch a sneak peek/behind the scenes/interview with director. I'd have preferred a Cloverfield type release but I guess they have to hype it up a bit to lose the stigma of the AVP films.

Robert Rodriguez directing, so hopefully will be good. I'm hoping it's a little darker than it appears in the clips.

Nothing will out do the Arnie version though.

Rodriguez is only producing, but he seems to be putting a lot of himself in the film. I really wish they weren't using cg for the animal predators but nonetheless I'm excited.

Looks the shit. I'm a little confused as to why humans would survive for 5 minutes in their home soil, but there have been occurances across the alien/predator movies in the past which show we have a mutual enemy.

Have to read into it more.

Can't wait

The story right now seems a little wonky but I'm hoping with the release of a full length trailer those worries will get settled. Can't say how many times my father and I've watched Predator, some bonding movie right?

This cabinet minister, does he always travel on da wrong side of da bodah?

I love Predator.

This looks... I dunno. Like it has a big budget?

Predators (2010)

It also has my favourite actor (just because his name is ridiculous), Walton Goggins.

Predator is one of my all time favourite films. Everything since has been gash.

McTiernan is a great action director. Rodriguez isn't. So I don't hold much hope for this cash cow.

Watched the making of predator the other day. Is well good.

Get do the choppppppppaaaaaaa

This isn't a cash cow. Predators was written by Rodriguez a year after the original Predator movie (I suppose he envisioned it similar to Aliens after Alien) but it wasn't filmed as technology wasn't up to it and the budget was far to high. The director is Nimrod Antal who hasn't really done much but then, nor had John McTiernan at the time of Predator.

I really want this to be ace. But it's bloody hard to make decent sequels. The simplicty of the story in the first made it special. I hope it comes somewhere close in it's energy, direction and innovation—then I can eat my words (and popcorn)

The casting looks well shit.

Who would you have cast in this film?

I think I would have micky rourke playing one of the characters

With his melted face he'd be ideal for the predator!

Anyone watched first predator recently ?
The score made it almost unwatchable for me - incessant bongos & trumpets, very annoying.

Eg:

Why? There is no Arnie's out there anymore so you can hardly have a new Dutch and Mickey Rourke was doing Iron Man. I think Adrian Brody is a good call.

But, I have noticed some guy using a Mini Gun. Why anyone would take a mini gun into a fight is beyond me. They slow you down, take a few seconds to cycle before firing and hamper body movement.

And the only two guys I've ever seen look cool with a mini gun are Arnie and Jessie Ventura. That guy isn't close to either.
