What is important to you when watching a movie
Out of personal curiousity, which is important to you when watching a movie and judging a movie. 1) Hot guys/gals 2) Action. LOTS of guns/explosion/kungfu 3) Good Story Plot 4) Originality 5) Computer effects/Special effects |

You can't choose one thing, or else you'd have a bad movie - just like with anything in the world. You need a good balance of actors, hot or not, good plot etc. I'd watch a film with hot lasses in, but not to see a great film. I'd watch a film with lots of action, doesn't mean it's a great film. A good plot is always a good thing, and this accompanied with originality usually make me enjoy a movie the most. Saw Indiana Jones today, and thought Speilberg managed to fuse together loads of films he's made with it; and god damn the man's obsessed with a family backstory, still quite good though. |

Depth of character and atmosphere. There is nothing worse than 2d cardboard cutout characters and atmosphere with the depth of a spoon, it spoils the movie for me. See the new Eye remake with Jessica Alba for an example lol |

Bill, do you honestly think someone who puts "Hot gals/guys", "Action. LOTS of guns/explosion/kungfu", and "Computer effects/Special effects" gives a shit about film-making as an art form? Not in any particular order of importance...three main areas of concern for me: 1. Literary/Theatrical - writing, plot and character development, acting. 2. Aesthetic - direction, cinematography, photography. |

Broken Flowers is a wonderful film. I hate Hollywood's obsession with happy endings and lessons. I love films with a good plot, good actors (doesn't mean attractive and rarely means popular) and great aesthetic qualities. |
