Gotta agree with buzz, Cloverfield would be shite on the small screen.

I should get Cloverfield on Netflix next week. I don't have high hopes, but I'll watch it anyway.

PGO, if any of your past film opinions are key to what you'll think of Cloverfield, you shouldn't waste your time. I hate to tell anyone what they'll think............BUT I think you'll think it's shyte.

I Loved it ... thought the shaky cam was a bit much ... but got used to it .. gave it a live news .. type feel to it .. so seen what the makers where trying to do ... Good film .. and must have took ages in Post Production with motion tracking .. monsters .. fx etc .. would have been so much easier to make the film static cam than Shaky ... worth seeing

They killed that Hud chump off way too late. The whole movie I'm just thinking 'shut the fuck up'.

Like women, I'll give every movie at least one chance even if I think I won't like it.

I didn't hate it.

The biggest strike against it was that the characters were a bunch of complete douchebags. After watching the documentary shorts, I think that was probably the influence of the people involved in the movie (actors/producers/director).

But it was an entertaining gimmick, overall. I'd watch it again.

The fact that they all died pleased me no end.

I watched it again.

I really didn't realize it, but the people who made it are utterly incompetent and, after watching the featurettes on the DVD, equally douche-y. They should have just hired a high school kid to write it. J.J. Abrams will never, ever be forgiven for writing Armageddon.

2.5/5 stars. It gets an extra 1.5 stars because everyone dies.

I guess it's just...okay? Video-cam approach aside, there were some funny moments, but that monster thing and its offspring looked a little comical..something about the eyes.Oh and the ending was heart breaking-ly "blasé", in Rob's words.

Maybe I shouldn't use "okay". How about.. one-hit wonder?
