I grew up with the G1 cartoon so I'm one of those that's been into transformers from the beginning. I hated the animated movie because it was a poor story if you ask me. Yeah I know that it was made for kids and story isn't supposed to be that important when your target audience is in the 7-10 range but I still thought they could have made a better story.

As for the live action movie, I really enjoyed it. Sure it wasn't perfect but I thought it was much better than the critics said it was. I guess I should include a SPOILER WARNING here. I think the only thing that I would have done was take out the entire part where the british girl goes to Anthony Anderson's house and then they get busted by the FBI. They really didn't need all of that. Instead they should have given Starscream some more time and thus some more lines. The one thing that seperated Starscream from the other decepticons was his personality. Other than Megatron he was really the only decepticon in the G1 show that had some substance to him. His desire to dethrone Megatron even though he was far weaker than Megatron was fun to watch. The writers had said they were going to keep that relationship that Megatron and Starscream had in the live action film but that never transpired. Maybe it will in the sequel, if there is one, but I was dissapointed that it never happend in this movie. It would have been nice if instead of seeing Frenzy most of the time, it was Starscream that had the most air time of any decepticon and he was whining about how bad of a leader Megatron is and that when they find Megatron he's going to end Megatron's life for good and become the new leader of the decepticons only for Megatron to show Starscream who his daddy is. Oh and instead of Jazz getting killed it should have been Hot Rod. Every G1 fan would have been in ecstasy if they had seen Hot Rod killed.

But other than that is was good.

If you are a transformers fan then this should be a good day for you, because the movie was intense, nice effects and a good plot.

I finally saw it and, as expected, it was a massive turd dipped in glitter. Worst movie I've seen in a while.

The writing and acting were so bad that I wasn't sure if I was watching a parody of bad movies. The plot was hackneyed, contrived, and weak.

Anyone who liked this crap who is over the age of 15 has no taste.

Well, all I expected of this film was a trip back to daydreams I had as a youth while playing with the toys. I always wondered what it would be like if they were real. I wasn't expecting Oscar-caliber performances from the CG robots. I wanted to be entertained and taken back to what I wish they would have been able to produce instead of the cartoon version...and that, I was.

To each his own, though.
