indiana jones 4 - not looking good

Quote:
Frank Darabont has written (and directed) some of the best movies of all time: The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. He’s currently in post production on his latest Stephen King adaptation The Mist. The writer has started to speak out about the disasterious experience that was Indiana Jones 4. His comments are sure to anger Star Wars director George Lucas. Darabont, who also worked on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, says that his time working on Indiana Jones 4 “topped the list” of his worst writing experiences of all time.

hmm

Frank Darabont says Indiana Jones 4 was a Tremendous Disappointment | /Film

UFO's in the 50s? Sounds like it could have been bad, but even so any Indy is better than no Indy, if they leave it any longer Ford will be too old to play the part. If he isn't already.

hmmm....

Let's find the holy grail and shoot nazis..

Let's find the ten commandments and shoot nazis..

Let's go to a big cave where children are being held against their will to dig rock and retrieve a load of shiny rocks from evil so the village will be better again..

they all sound stupid...but they were all brilliant.

ehhh, personally I'd rather stick with the films I've got than have them rape the corpse another of my childhood favourites for a cheap buck. And TBH UFOs sounds a bit like they've lost the plot.

Was this ever really in doubt? Lucas lost the plot years ago... Look at the new Star Wars films... Not a patch on the originals. If I remember rightly, the main thing that kept the original Indiana Jones fils good was the fact that Stephen Spielberg was involved, and could "reign in" Lucas when he had stupid ideas. With no Spielberg, Lucas is bound to produce something crappy.

'That was terrifically frustrating. I worked for over a year on that. I worked very close to Steven Spielberg. He was ecstatic with the result and was ready to shoot it two years ago. He was very, very happy with the script and said it was the best draft of anything since "Raiders of The Lost Ark". Lucas read it and said, "Yeah, I don't think so, I don't like it". And then he resets it to zero when Steven Spielberg is ready to shoot it that coming year, which is a real kick in the nuts.'

Every story was goof as hell, seems like a UFO story fits right in. The films not taking themselves too seriously is what made them great.

Yeah, Spielbeg's still with it. I think as long as they don't try to make it too good of a movie, and just stick with the awesome cheese of the first three, they're fine. I don't know if I ever even saw the fourth.
