Heh, neat.
I'm still hoping to find enough money to buy one of these babies, and put Painter to some real work

http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ - Nice Windows utility.

http://www.softpointer.com/tr.htm - Tag & Rename kicks ass for renaming/retagging large MP3 collections.

http://www.mp3tag.de/en/screenshots.html - MP3Tag is OK and it's free.

http://www.musikcube.com/ - MusikCube, Lightweight audio software - similar in setup to iTunes, but better, lighter, more focused software overall.

http://www.debugmode.com/wink/ - Wink allows you to capture desktop video for making presentations and such. Automatically exports to Flash file I believe.

It's awesome. The interface takes some getting used to - the tabs up top are what you need to switch between for mass renaming, altering tags, or generating tags from filenames.

Be warned, though - it gets sluggish if you try to alter too many files at once.

I decided to remove all entries from the "Comments" field in ID3v2 tags from my entire collection (around 5,000 MP3s). Took about 30 minutes and nearly killed my poor computer. And I couldn't stop the operation with Ctrl+Alt+Del and killing the process. Poor hard drive was squealing from working so hard.

I've always wanted to do that and add my own message, so I just did the same to about 4,500 files. BUT, it worked flawlessly. My machine ate it up in about 4 minutes. Lovely processor.

Tag & Rename!

What kind of system do you have that it's that fast?

Maybe it's the hard drive...?

Strange. Mine's a P4 3.0Ghz, 1GB RAM, etc. I'll have to try it again and see what happens.

I posted a similar application not long ago and here is another one of the same type:

Artrage

For tablet owners.
The interface might seem a little "too funky" but it's actually quite easy to use... seems like a very good alternative the big boys like ie Painter.
nice price too (but there is also a free le version to download)

BullZip: Access to MySQL Converter - Nice!

This is the best free utility to convert Microsoft Access databases to MySQL that I have come across. Very nice. Plus the site has a few other free apps worth looking at...
