This has a terrible name, but a handy app for tracking time - does invoicing too but I don't bother with that because I use Moneyworks Express already but its handy for listing time spent on... uhem... the job...

Parallels Desktop - Run Windows inside OS X

Transmit - Best FTP program out on OS X, so beautiful!

Unison - Usenet reader/downloader, made by the same people as Transmit. Very pretty interface.

Quicksilver - Catalogs EVERYTHING on your mac and provides an easy to use interface to open and manipulate any file/app. Takes a while to get used to but will end up being the one app you use most.

TextMate - Text editor built for web design and programming.

FontExplorer X - The best font management program I've ever used.

BitTyrant - Torrent app based on the popular Azureus client

FireFox - The best browser in the world, Need i say more?

Theres plenty more but these will do for now.

Have you ever wanted to find a file that is on a removable disk? Without knowing which disk it is on, you can not use 'Find File', as it needs the real disk to search. Alias Disk allows you to keep removable disks locally on your hard disk in the form of aliases to every file on that disk in the correct folder heirarchy.

Alias Disc for Mac
http://www.landsbert.dsl.pipex.com/aliasdisk/

Minimum System Requirements
  • Macintosh PowerPC or Intel.
  • System 8.6 or later (including Mac OS X 10.4.8).
  • Carbon Library (pre-Mac OS X only).
  • 1Mb RAM free.
  • 1Mb Hard disk space.
Download Universal version

For Intel and PowerMacs using Mac OS X 10.3 and later. (200K)
Download Carbon version

For PowerMacs using Mac OS X or Mac OS 8.6 and later (requires CarbonLib). (84K)
