Netscape 8 released today

Netscape 8 was released today and it is described as a 'hybrid' browser... meaning it can render pages using either the FireFox or IE engine - and it does so very nicely from what I've played with so far.

So why didn't you get it yet?

edit: s'pose this should be in software - oops.

I guess I have to add this to my have-to-download-list then.

first impressions are good - it's certainly the nicest looking browser out of the box - being able to set certain pages to display via the firefox or the IE engine is genius - though I don't know if that's a good thing for the general public to deal with...

There are a couple of little thing that annoy me already though:

to close a tab, the 'x' is located on the tab itself, not in a fixed position on the right hand side..

my frequently used links on the multibar, all open in a new tab when I click them and I can't turn it off?

apart from that, first impressions are very good.

though they could have just invested all of this in firefox instead.
