If you can access the site: www.opera.com you can download version 8 - they have been busy

I have not tested it yet but looks like a firefox now has a worthy competitor (not one to start a debate but I have always preferef FF over Opera, but that may change?)

Opera's biggest problem is that it's called opera.

I had a look yesterday and couldn't quite work out why it might be worth downloading ... anyone?

it's got some good accessibility testing tools.

that's it though. I don't know why it's kept going. I don't know anyone who uses it as their default browser. And I know plenty of geeks.

I've only ever used it for testing... Is that the only reason it survives, people using it to test that it their sites work on it?

I know a few developers who use it. They are the hardcore hand coding type. Maybe it has a niche?? Dunno - I dont really like it in comparison to FF, but like you say, just use it to test.

<added>
I have some users who use it tho, and some who use IE4 (gag)
