phpBB
Hey Oli Was wondering - how difficult is it to set up a phpBB? (don't worry, I'm not thinking of another design forum!) Did you do it yourself? And are you a techie or designer or bit of both? I'm considering adding a bulletin board to one of my sites and it would be nice to know if phpBB will be a massive headache or not thanks mate |

Its easy m8 - you basically set up a mySQL database with username and password. Upload all your forum files and then run the install script, entering the mySQL details, username and password. The script takes care of everything and then its a case of customising it through the admin panel. If you have any problems let me know and Ill lend a hand. |

I had trouble with that one, I first created all the PHP tables or whatever, but I screwed something up, and when I tried again, it said the tables were already created, and I couldnt do anything.. --ANDY |

I've not used phpbb but I've heared from a lot of ppl that its really easy, I've used yabbse on two websites now, and that was so easy to set up, the second time I had the whole thing up and running in under 30 mins!! Invision board is generally very straight forward to, and looks really good. markymoo |

Just out of interest what made you choose this forum software. I would highly recommend Beehive, since it has a few features that are missing from this one, such as reply to poster, seperate windows for threads/posts etc. Tis free and stuff. You should have a look : http://www.tehforum.net |
