IE testing on mac

How do you guys do it?
Boot camp? Parallels? Browser shots?
I'm thinking a VM might be the best solution here. It's doing my head in at the moment.

i'm pretty sure theres an add on for firefox that does something like this. However i'm a print wannabe. Web design is not my kettle of fish.

Yeah I was looking at that today. IE view I believe it's called but it only works on Windows with IE installed as far as I could tell.

Either dual boot windows, or install it on a virtual machine. The bonus of the VM is that you can use it from Mac OSX without having to reboot, its just another window but with a whole operating system in it, so you can flick back and forth to test it in the browser and tweak your code.

I have Windows via Bootcamp. So I can test it in IE once it works in all 3 other browsers I develop for. IE is the last part, so only boot into it once.

Yeah I've got Windows on boot camp at the moment. Bit annoying having to boot out though. Also my keyboards stopped working in it which is highly annoying. Think I'll give VM fusion a go.
Cheers guys.

IE 5.5/6/7 on XP: Parallels
IE7 on Vista: Boot camp

You may want to look into this. It's very handy.

Install multiple versions of IE on your PC | TredoSoft

and this...

Test your web design in different browsers - Browsershots

Just purchased Parallels and Windows XP for this very reason. I had been using browsershots, but as that can only test things visually and not if you are logged into sites it made it difficult to do complete testing.

I second Hutch's thought on Multiple IE... it was the first, and only thing, I'll be installing now that Parallels and XP are up and running.

I finally have a cheap solution to this if anyone is interested.
I'm using some open source emulation software (Q, ported from qemu) and running two separate virtual machines. One with IE 6, one with IE 7.

I just tried the IE4OSX thing, both on Tiger (2Gb RAM) and Leopard (4 GB RAM) and it crashed both times. So yeah, VMWare sounds best, and 80 USD isn't that much.

I'm cheap so I'll stick with Q which is free. Also, it's open source so I get a nice warm feeling every time I use it.

I would like to hear opinions from you who are using Parallels or VMWare Fusion, is it fast, can you run multiple systems on VM without worrying about slowing the system down, ...?
