3Dsmax Optimization
When I hit around 2M polys in max my framerate in the viewports drops to an unbearable level, to the point where if I move the object I have to wait a few seconds for the viewport to refresh. I swear there's something wrong with this as my setup is pretty powerful. I've got a Windows Vista X64 based machine with a Quad Core @ 2.4ghz, 8GB DDR2 RAM and a nVidia 8800GTX 768MB graphics card. I've tried looking around in the preferences dialog box in max, but can't find anything there. Is this performance good/average on a system of that spec, or is it just max? I can go up to around 25M polys in Zbrush and not have the same issues so I guess it is. Is there anyway to adjust performance settings in max? Last edited by Samione : 01-02-2008 at 18:20. |
