Illustrator CS3 > 88 help?

I have a file done on IllustratorCS3 but the print guy is asking me for the file in Illustrator88.

Is there an option to convert an IllustratorCS3 to an Illustrator 88 (*.art)?? I tried copy/pasting into freehand and its all good, until I export from Freehand>Illustrator88. When I open my new *.art file, typography is different, missing some dots and whatnot.

Everything is in paths.
Guy is applying pressure on me. I have no idea what to do. PLZTHX!

It's Illustrator 8, export as legacy and choose the illustrator88 option

Did you outline all the text first before transferring?

There any other formats he can accept?

jeez. thanks a lot! BUT look.

With your intstructions I easily found the way, but its still saving it as an "*.ai"... which makes me doubt that the "Illustrator 88" option when exporting from freehand is the same as the "Illustrator 8" when "saving as" on Illustrator.

Thanks for the input anyway, if someone has any more ideas, please tell.

The .ai just makes it work on Windows. Mac OS will ignore the .ai extension. Windows needs it to recognize it as an Illustrator file.

Don't worry about it.
