Photoshop: JPEG Options Dialogue on batch process
I am currenty working on a job that will require me to resize hundreds of photos. I am using Photoshop's batch feature, but i keep getting the "JPEG Options" dialogue box every time each photo must be saved. This makes me sit in front of the computer clicking OK over and over. Anybody know how to get rid of this step and make Photoshop simply save with JPEG options? I have tried incorperating "save for web" into the action, but this didn't work. |

i havent batched anything in ages and i cant get to p'shop atm but iirc just switch off the save option in the batch and rely on the explicit save in your action if you save your settings in save for web it should work edit: although it remembers the last used iirc its one of those bloody things i always have to play with a bit to get right because of infrequent use meh.

A "save as" command must be recorded at the end of the action. This results in the JPEG options box settings being written to the action. I could not get this to work with "save for web", but it seems to me no flexibility is lost anyway. If I'm correct, you get all the same JPEG options. Photoshop is now churning out the files. |

Very strange; I have to check "override save as commands in action" box in the batch dialog or it saves two versions of the file (original file name and batch file name). So now the save in the batch script is being used, yet the settings for the jpeg in the action (which are being overridden) are used to know how to save the jpeg. Very confusing. Nonetheless, this is doing exactly what I wanted. |

I know you figured it out and all, but if you have fireworks, it has a batch process that works really good and is easy to get going. You just open the program, and choose batch under file. Its got pretty good algorithms too, so the pictures look nice after they are resized. |
