Advanced Illustrator techniques

Guys, take a look at that please:
smashingmagazine.com/2007/08/21/creativity-spark-from-masters-of-graphic-design/

Amazing Illustrations in there, no doubt. Almost every piece has some Illustrator work in it that I can analyse and understand, but stuff from this guy boggles my mind:
siscottstudio.com/

How are these absolutely angle-perfect curves done? He creates these highly detailed Illustrations with multiple lines next to each other, and they are aligned perfectly. I'm not new to Illustrator, however I can't think of a technique to do that. In general I don't know how some guys do these perfect angular curves and lines, without a tiny edge sticking out or a point too much on the edges.

The worst thing is, 99% of the Illustrator online tutorials are beginner level or simply crap like "create your own smoking coffee pot clipart!"

Do you guys know about cool advanced Illustrator techniques or a source for that? That would help everyone here (and save my boring day).

There is a 1 click filter that boshes out his style of work...

This may seem like madness in this digital age, but he draws them with pen and scans it. There is a video out there of him in action. He is good.

*Edit*

Just for the record I am refering to Si Scott.

Couldn't find the video, but I am sure someone else will.
Here is one link of many. http://www.youplusus.net/?p=285

From the description I would guess Blend tool (Object - Blend - Blend options - specified steps).

I thought so, many illustrators draw their stuff on paper first.

Lets go on and share advanced techniques then. This is probably well know around here:
gomediazine.com/04/18/2007/from-sketch-to-vector-illustration/

Nevertheless this is what I am looking for. I'm trying to dig up another old tutorial on how to create a stylistic crazy robot and repost it here.
