Make vista run faster

Okay, I am in need of some help. After finding out Creative Suite 3 will install on Vista I am keeping it, but it runs really slow and I wondered if any of you know how to speed it up.

I have already disabled Windows Aero and I have 2 GB RAM. Does anyone know if there is a faster vista shell and if there are any services I can get rid of??

Cheers guys.

You can always install XP. Vista is bollocks for production environment.

I am running Vista home premium on a self built rig

Intel E6600 Due core 2.4ghz
2 gig ram
nvidia geforce 6600
and it's very very quick at every task, i normally have deamweaver, photoshop, outlook, illustrator all open at the same time!!

but you need 2gig min ram for vista

I've just built mine up over the weekend,

Everything runs so smooth.

I'm on a quad core CPU, 4gb ram and 8800 graphics card.

not to shabby.

Turn off indexing for everything except the Start Menu. You don't need it. It's what makes the hard drive constantly thrash away for hours at a time, and is supposed to run quietly in the background without stealing resources, but it rarely does.

Also, you could try using 'ReadyBoost' with a good USB memory stick. I've heard mixed reports about how effective it is, but recently the consensus seems to be that it does improve things in some situations.
