ok, this is killing me. sometimes, in illustrator, (cs) when i try to fill something, it only does it in grey, as if the whole document is grayscale, which of course it's not.

It did it the other day when i was illustrating a map, in colour, then it suddenly wouldnt let me change the colour of any blocks, just made them grey if i tried.

how annoying, anyone got a solution...i have faith in you.

just realised too, if i try to draw any shapes now, straight from the shapes panel, they are grey too. grrrrr

It's not just CS, Illustrator 10 does it (the everything-can-only-be-grey-now quirk) to me occasionally as well, don't know why I'm afraid, (a restart seems to sort it) but I share your pain.

never experienced that with 10 (not got CS) - is it a known bug?

thanks guys, i realised it only does it if i try to use the colour box on the bottom of the tools panel, if i just pick a colour from the swatches, (a pantone colour etc) its fine, try it, might work for you too!
