any old pc cd buring software will work, they're all the same - however, out of the one's i've used (nero & roxio) i've preferred roxio. are you trying to do something special? if you're planing to do a cd which auto runs on both macs and pcs then you'll have to create it on a mac and mount a volume using toast or summat like that - been a while since i did cd based media.

nero - http://www.nero.com/en/631934351031098.html - its a trial but says it works.

roxio is made by the apple toast people and you have to buy it.

1: do your icons in photoshop (remember colour limitations tho)
2: just get hold of any free app that will convert a graphic file to .ico format - there is plenty on free ones out there - I use IconArt (made by er... ConWare - but that's mainly for the conversion - do most of it in PS. Imageready if it's animated (remember I hated Imagesready in the beginning). There is also an icon plugin for PS... Iconfactory I think it'd called...
---
but yeah, alternatively - I could do it for you...

For free icons, try LiquidIcon (http://www.x2studios.com/index.php?page=products&id=11). You can use it to make your own (very basic) icons or screen capture something you made with another programme. It also makes cursors.

Just remembered a free burning programme that was on a cover CD last week. I ain't tried it yet but it looks pretty straightforward (http://www.burn4free.com/). I use Nero personally as it was bunged in with me 'puter.
