Safari and the Google search field

Anyone know a way to mod the Google search field in Safari so that it routes to google.co.uk rather than google.com?

It would make my life a sh*toad easier if I could use it to search uk sites by default.

TIA

Dunno - can't you just click the search icon for a dropdown like in moz/firebird?

Nah, that only gives a list of recent searches.

I tried opening it with Terminal as it said but I couldn't locate the http://&@.google.com/… string.

Tried it with BBEdit too and was able to locate that string somewhere beyond the reach of BBEdit's scrollbars.
Don't have the confidence to mess around with app code unless it's all there infront of me.

Not quite the same thing.
If a non-UK site mentions the UK along with my search terms then that'll be returned in the SERPs too.
It is better than not specifying +UK, but still doesn't differentiate to the same degree that the Google UK radio button does.

What about .coms that are based in the UK?

uk.yahoo.com is still found so maybe it recognises uk sites.

i think youll have to just set google.co.uk has your homepage until apple allow you to alter this.

I'm quite surprised that there isn't a mod/haxie to enable people to customise it.
There seems to be one to customise every other aspect of Safari.

I have Google UK as a link in my bookmarks bar. It's just that I instinctively go to the Google search field.

Perhaps I'll have another look at that tutorial I linked to earlier - that is if I can find an app that can open Safari app as a text file in all its glory.

Thx for the input tho.
