Has anyone in here ever used The GIMP?? I can't seem to make much out with it. I mean, it is a good program, but it isn't too much of a professional level software.

Well, what I was wondering was if anyone here knew of a good graphics program in Linux. I dont want to pay the money for a "legal" copy of Windows, so I''ve decided to just go ahead and go Open Source... well, now I can't do much design... someone got a solution?? :-)

corel photopaint is an ok alternative to photoshop. it's free for linux. not sure if it's the newest version... but might be worth checking out anyway...

I thought the gimp was supposed to be pretty good for a freebie, but a bit of learning curve.

I couldnt use Linux on my desktop machine, if you cant afford a new copy of windows xp - why not try and get a cheapo copy of 2k off ebay or something.
