Ever sine hearing napster 2.0 will offer unlimited downloads (legally of course) for $9.95 a month, I couldn't hold back my excitement. Even the fact that I live in England didn't hold me back! Then I searched around and discovered napster 2.0 will only be available to people in the usa. I hear there might be a version for us brits but does anyone know when that's likely to be? Also... I've found a great hosting deal and would like to move on up to paid hosting. Unfortunately I don't have a credit card so I'd have to make my Dad pay for it with his. What I want to know is if you can stop people from doing WHOIS searches on your domain name. Thanks... |

AFAIK, no you can't stop people doing whois searches on your domain. Thanks for the side story about your dad That's fuckin' ingenious, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fuckin' watch.

I'm very excited to see they're pushing this (sorry brits)...Napster still holds a special place in my heart -- awwwww -- as it is responsible, even to this day, for the bulk of my music library. I was unhappy when it shut down. Let the hype begin: http://www.napster.com/ fun: HGC v.4 | last.fm: DT | me | oi! f*ck u roto: ...via meebo!

Oli, I meant "sorry brits" because of this comment by zeronineUK (although I'm sure they're working on making it worldwide as we speak): Quote:
----------------------------------- And, to further the thread, some questions: When using mp3 pay-as-you-download systems (like the upcoming new version of Napster), does anyone know if you can choose a preferred bitrate when downloading songs? And, is pricing tiered accordingly? For example, I want my whole library at 192 kbps...no more, no less. I´m hoping they don´t have songs only @ 128 kbps... Maybe someone who has used the iTunes Music Store can enlighten me. fun: HGC v.4 | last.fm: DT | me | oi! f*ck u roto: ...via meebo!

Fwiw, the same level of privacy is available via GoDaddy registrations (and presumably some other registrars too). Info I, Info II. I use GoDaddy for all my .com registrations and can't fault them on their price or service. (You'll need a credit card though) |
