data recovery
So, my 'media' drive (160GB SATA) has decided to become a gayer. Basically the drive is still visible but Windows claims it isn't formatted. I think either the partition table or MBR has been corrupted. I've tried running chkdsk which usually fails after a good few hours. Booted into knoppix but as it's NTFS it wasn't too keen on it. Was having a look at Stellar Phoenix, the demo version of which certainly found all my files okay, but I've no idea if it'll actually recover them. Any tips, help, welcome. |

Some of the people over at Something Awful run a small wiki-ish thing: http://shsc.info/DataRecovery May be helpful. |
