Studio MX 2004 - Worth the Overdraft?

So what's the verdict - do I go into my overdraft to get it?

Bloody macromedia - I spent £550 or something only last year on studion mx and now mx 2004 for £300ish! That's just wrong!

Argh!

I say if you don't use everything in the studio...go a la carte...

Take a look at the extra features and judge for yourself if you need them or not. The new css features in Dreamweaver look rather good, but then again you can get TopStyle Pro for £30 or something.

I've had it for a while (beta tester) and I'd say its not worth it. Freehand is unchanged, the new features of flash are good IF you are going to use them, and have a very fast PC to run it on (its frustratingly slow on our work P3 800's) and the DWMX2004 handling of CSS is still very poor compared to topstyle. If you're using CSS for layout you still wont be able to use DW and expect reliable results from the design mode.

Personally, I now only use PS7, Topstyle 3 pro and VERY occasionnally Flash MX.

Dont chuck your money away for nothing if you already have the MX suite unless you really need the extra features in Flash MX Pro

Can you only get flash MX 2004 pro in the studio suite then? or can you upgrade MX seperately?

Meant to go to one of the free Seminars at the beguinning of the month but was too busy walking up hills to get there

just tried dm mx 2004 - uninstalled now

they have copied topstyls approach to tags but even when you chose make accessible page from new menu - it creates a page with hundreds of nested tables and font tags.

they had a real opportunity here but again it goes unanswered

using flash pro and i must say the extra extensions you can but are bloody awesome

my work will become faster and hopefully more creative having seen some of the extensions in use ( i am shite at actionscripting)

alot of stuff for cross platform deployment. Becoming more and more involved with dvd and interactive flash.

I also like the video features in pro. Will defo be purchasing flash pro but nothing else

Any body beta tested Photoshop 8 ? Been waiting for 8 to come around untill I upgrade as I never really saw 7 or 7.5 as a valid upgrade, not enough of a change for me (IMO)..
