A New Flaw Every Week

Is this ever going to stop?

http://news.myway.com/tech/article/i...7|reuters.html

...seems like I'm downloading a new critical software update every week. But, at least I haven't been hit and lost any data (that I know of).

Anyone have an opinion on this besides "get a Mac"?

honestly dood, there's not much you can do......get a good firewall with good virus software and you should be fine...just get the updates when they comes out =\

there isn't really an option besides switching to mac, since major software like the adobe suite and stuff isn't designed for linux and that.......and I'm sure there's going to be many more problems for mac if more people switch to them and start using them, I think (besides that it's based off unix) the majority of the reason there aren't that many viruses for mac is that there's almost no one (relative to the computer using populus) who uses it...so there's no one really writing viruses for it ;P

+ the majority of people using them are based in industry so have no interest in seeing viruses developed (apart from maybe the odd disgruntled employee of course. Though this situation is obviously changing since the sexing up of the brand a few years ago.

I think it'll be carnage if/when mac viruses start appearing as a lot of mac users have become really slack with antivirus protection on their machines... gotta admit i've only recently started using it.

lol this kinda puts it in perspective, even though its probably not accurate, it would still pretty much hold close to the truth....

Always been pretty paranoid about it anyway, and I'm always as bang up to date with my software and Virus Def Updates as humanly possible - still forsee lots of problems on the horizon though
