PHP IDE's

I'm using Zend Studio at the moment as my primary IDE for editing PHP but the interface quirks are forcing me to look elsewhere.

Opensource options would be lovely but not essential, but the features would have to be comparable to Zend .. such as extensive project management tools, method/class hyperlinking between files (ctrl-click on a method name and it takes you to the classfile it's declared in), syntax highlighting (for more than just php), some form of auto-completion. Nice-to-haves would be debugging, cvs/ftp integration, code snippets, etc.

So come on, amaze me. Or just tell me what you use (oh - and i'm on Win*)

I was looking to move away from Zend because of some Quirks, I found one called PHP Designer 2005. I stook with Zend Studio because this application didn't offer some of the useful facilities that Zend offers. So far I haven't found one which compares to the Zend Solution.

Eclipse (www.eclipse.org)

With phpEclipse (www.phpeclipse.de)

Alternative Eclipse plugin is TruStudio

http://www.xored.com/trustudio

Both have their pros and cons - I used to use TruStudio but eventually went with phpEclipse.

Alternatively, try jEdit. (www.jedit.org)

Nice one - quick question: can you search across multiples files in eclipse, say in a project, or a particular folder?

Yeah. It has support for multiple projects, and you can search across any/all that are open
