To start off, I know you all are going to hate the fact that I used frames. PLEASE don't base your judgement of the site simply on that, because my friends seem to like em', and that's what I'm buliding the site for...normal people that don't care about Standard Coding and whatnot. So, please just give me suggestions and review my unfinished site... www.wizdude.com |

I suggest you ditch the frames - there really is no need for them. What are they doing on your site that you couldn't otherwise do without them? Centered text? Ditch that too. And since you are making a site for 'normal people' try viewing it in a normal resolution (800x600 and 1024x768) - hmmm sideways scrollbars on your outer frames. The problem with frames isn't just about being standards compliant... Theres SEO - you get none with frames because search engines just read your frameset... and bookmarking pages isn't possible with frames based sites... neither is sending people a direct link without creating a seperate frameset for each link or using PHP to determine which page is loaded where. If you do insist on using frames, which you shouldn't, why have pop-ups for some of the content rather than load them in one of the frames? On a positive note I like the idea of having a snail with your name. |

frames are shit, frames are pointless, frames are no good. 1. they are shit, because they look real nasty when you resize the window (as seen.to said). 2. they are pointless because they do not reduce that much your loading time, instead you have to create 3/4 pages to display one. You also have a lot of scrollbars to deal with. Maybe you could confuse more your visitors by adding scrollbars to the left of the window as well (there's a javascript that does that) 3. they are no good for all of the reasons pointed out by seen.to On the design of the site... it's balck text, blue links on white background... where's the design? Oh, and I don't like you changing my cursor to the "move" cursor on links... Sorry needs some work/rethinking |

Someones been busy :p But lose the frames... seriously lose them, there's rarely a point in having them, especially in this site. Oh and lose the tables while you are at it - you've copied... no that's not the right word sorry, emulated, there we go, you've emulated a table-free CSS layout but you've filled it with tables and frames. Don't! Looking much better overall so far though. |
