Took a look... it is nothing like Raleigh is it... maybe because it reminded me of Rover who share a red/gold color scheme with Raleigh... or maybe it was the beer

I like it. I also do not see any similarity
between your logo and the rover logo (maybe
that's because there are about 5 rover cars

Started out as just a play on the letters, but my final designer speil will be that it encapsulate an escapism associated with riding created by the form of a road marker fading into the distance. It also embodies a formal and professional feel by the use of the shield shape, and the simplistic nature represents your companies core values.

Not bad off the top of my head with a hang over.

Yeh I think it's cos I put a gradient over the original shape in photoshop when I was playing with the colours.

I think it looks good, it just doesn't feel done and needs something more. Either that, or it needs to be tightened up some. Too much negative space?
