New site for a friend...

Well, I finally got something done.

A friend has a server through a hosting company and he's selling off small chunks of his server. Since he gave me my first (free) hosting account over at 1&1 (didn't care for them, but it was free) I agreed to make a site for him to advertise his startup business.

I did the original about a year ago - it was an ugly table-based layout (although it was still valid XHTML 1.0 Strict). When I saw the light of standards, I decided that for my own peace of mind, I'd re-design it using CSS.

So, here it is - www.privnett.com.

It's static XHTML/CSS - except the ordering system - that's some script thing that my friend installed since I'm no programmer (yet).

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Known issues: The sidebar "plan" links are broken on most of the pages, I know, but I forgot to change them. Will do that today, so don't fret. The screen stylesheet is quite disorganized also. It doesn't validate because I forgot a closing tag or two in the <head>. I'll have to sort that out soon too.

One thing, in particular, that I'd like opinions on is the header image. Right now it's just text. Bland, boring. Any suggestions on how to spice that up would be appreciated.

Thanks for the comment. I agree - it needs some spice. I'm going to try to stay away from "stock images" but I may have no choice on that.

The idea for me was to create a hosting site that didn't look like a hosting site - if you know what I mean. Makes it hard to bring myself to use stock imagery.

No reason not to add more imagery, though - the site caps out (all XHTML pages, CSS, and images) at about 50KB.

Fixed known issues except the blandness of the header and spicing it up in general.

Any more comments, suggestions?

It looks nice, It's very clean and "to-the-point".
I don't know about imagery, your site looks
very natural, so I don't know if keyboards/tech stuff
would go very well, but I also don't know wether
flowers/trees would work either... Maybe skies?

Oh, one more thing, I am not very sure about the
dropshadow under your titles, it seems to end too
abruptly at the left end, maybe try to make it smoother?

Anyway, nice work.
