Yay Rug... I guess. I was waiting for a weaved rug.

The rug is here but I feel unable to comment, not really sure what Armenian rug weaving and iconography is all about. Best go do some reading first. SOAD?

Damn and after I'd screenshot the Corporate rug and everything. Well here it is anyway

Here's a quick crash course in Armenian Rugs...

http://zangezur.tripod.com/rugs/armrug.html

Interesting...

I can see what your trying to do and I think I like it. I see from a post you made on another forum that it's part of a series. Could you post any of the others to give us a better idea of how they work together ?

(Can you tell I'm working from home this week?)

right, but this is out of manuscripts. I'll try to scan in office some staff i've used and then post it back. Armenian rug design is little bit more ascetic than persian and arabian ones. Hope my clients at www.armenianrugstore.com would pay hosting fees and you can see a lot of examples of armenian rug/carpet weaving.

are you asking for a link?
nah... i can give you an ISBN number instead. it's from a book:
'The Encyclopedia Of Patterns And Motifs' ISBN 1 85891 221 0
there are two other volumes in the series:
'The Encyclopedia Of Illustration' (lots of nice copper prints and etchings and stuff) ISBN 1 85170 360 8
'The Encyclopedia Of Signs And Symbols' ISBN 1 85170 967 3
All published by Studio Edition Ltd. They are big things - about A4+ size and around 400 pages each volume.
Good luck hunting them down... they are all mid 90's publications.
(but if you find a link - i'd like to know too)

Here is another example for carpet, i did in a pretty traditional colors and symbols. In most of the cases as far as i dig, meanings of this symbols are lost, except sometimes there are some old rug weavers in villages who still do remember some staff.
