Please Review ZapMeta - New Search Engine

Hello Everyone,

Please let us know what you think of our new meta-search engine...

http://www.ZapMeta.com

Provide us your input on the following factors:

1. Speed - Fast? Average? Slow?
What do you think of ZapMeta's speed comparing to other meta search engines?

2. Advanced Search and Preferences - Useful or Useless?
Advanced search enables users to restrict their search and the ability to customize the output of their results. Preferences were made to work in conjunction with advanced search. In other words, if you change a value in preferences, it will also be reflected in advanced search if the value is present.

3. Design - Visually appealing or overloaded with graphics?
What do you think of our effort in trying to put a distinction between ZapMeta's design and the plain html design of most search engines?

4. Result Relevancy - On the mark or not close at all?
We wanted ZapMeta to return relevant results, so sponsored links will never be included in the actual results (unless selected in preferences). Along with our smart algorithm, ZapMeta is able to produce more relevant results than most meta search engines. Or at least that's what we think, let us know your thoughts.

5. Bugs and Errors
Please report any bug or error if you encounter them.

Anything you dislike or like? Please let us know, all feedback, comments, and/or suggestions are highly appreciated.

Regards,
Kevin

Had a quick go:

Speed - Very good, almost as fast as (king) google when I raced them.
Design - I don't like the 'metallic' search button at all. There aren't too many images though and the logo's alright.
Results - Good.

What does "all results, one engine" mean? Is English your first language?

From my quick test, it's better than most other search engines I've seen. Bookmarked it.

In order to understand the meaning of our slogan, you must first understand what a meta-search engine is...

A meta-search engine is a search tool that searches the databases of other search engines and/or directories.

Basically, "all results" mean all the results from the individual search engines are collected into "one engine"

I see. I read it as an everyday slogan: <cheesy tone>ALL results, ONE engine!</cheesy tone>.

Didn't realise the marketing was for geeks.

Had a quick go like stickman up there and came to much the same conclusion. Nice look, fast, some results I liked (I was looking up stuff I'd done obviously ) and it's in the bookmarks.

I'd have to say that I too ain't too fond of the metalic button look, I think you should stick to the grey/orange combination used on the rest of the site, why is the opening page different anyway?

oli,

Pixelbrick did start the design process but what you see right now is nothing like their original design. They used too many images so we had to remove about 85% and modified most of them.

dan,

We've been getting much complaints about the search button for not being a clear font. Will look into this and you should see a
change in a couple of days.

Thanks for all feedback so far, please keep them coming.

i like it. like the look too. and it rated some of my sites better than google does. cheers - get onto the clients about that later on today eh?

i agree with the slow start but then that's probably b'cos its querying other engines yes? whereas google queries itself. i'm guessing from your description above anyway.

The metallic button still looks cheap and the font on the buttons of the results page isn't very readable (or nice).

Just aesthetics.
