2010 Portfolio Redesign

My portfolio redesigned for 2010. It's been 2-3 years since I've redesigned mine, and I hate it so much. Can't wait to put this awesome design over it. Let me know what you think of it.

The home page features a box with sliding content. On the portfolio page you navigate with the left column and the content on the right slides to right project.

It's not entirely done yet so I didn't want to post a link to it. Once the design/coding is all done, I will update this thread.

Looking good!

Wouldn't mind seeing the inner page with all the headers in blue rather than multi coloured.

Still though, Its solid work.

Thanks for your feedback 2dfruit. I originally did have them all in blue, but changed them cause I wanted my other work to be separated from my more important work (websites). Glad you like it so far!

I don't mind that effect. But the colors... wow. Could tone it down.

Explain why this effect is "horrible".

I might switch them back to all blue, instead of 3 different colors.

it's not that the 3 different colors are bad they just come out of nowhere. nothing ever tied them into the theme of the site. they only feel out of place to me because the colors are never introduced until then.

Fair enough. I guess I never thought about that. I made them all blue, and I think I'm just going to keep it that way.

I wouldn't go that far, make the active menu a different colour. My IA senses tell me that your menu is supposed to behave like some kind of accordion? If I'm incorrect, get rid of the arrows icons in the nav titles.

Ya not suppose to be an accordion, I can get rid of them. I will have some sorta of active state (if I can) on that project menu.

Remove 'perfectionist' from header. It feels cheap.

I do like your logo.
And the site looks tidy enough. Get on a make it work and take it from there.

liking the design, and although I myself am into plenty of colours, i think just sticking to the blues on your main headers will do the job. Tidy though, nice work!

The site look great, but if you are going for a modern "check out my new layout, its 2010" you should code this in html5 and css3

Well considering html5 isn't released yet and only available on a select number of browsers... I'm not going to do that yet. I wasn't going for what you call, "a modern, check out my new layout its 2010" site, more on the lines of "hey, I've improved my skills and wanted to let everyone know I'm not dead" kind of site. For my next redesign... sure I'll definitely add html5.

Thanks for the feedback though Glad you like it.
