These are a lot of fun but what are you using them for? Do you have a deal with some Korean manufacturer which programs games into their mobile phones or what?

Errm - unemployed student. I have a lot of time on my hands. But I edited in a quote from the wip thread ^

I'm working with a game developer in the US, but these aren't related to that.

It's lovely stuff Zaba.
Following on from Tea and DH, the textured BG with pixels looks awesome.

I'm dying to get some screen printing gear so that I can print onto some nice textured stock. I just worry that chucking on a textured background just to make it look cool is somewhat unsophisticated. But thanks for the praise!

More sophisticated than just having a plain gradient, either way don't worry about it as it adds to the style.

No, I think it's a nice contrast though. Be careful with your screen printing though, might be a bit tricky to keep your artwork sharp.

Playing around. It's a little dark because of the background. I might try lightening it up... hmm.

Hey, can a mod change the name of this thread to "bjzaba's random junk" and move it to the showcase? I'm thinking I'll just chuck all my personal work in here.

Random crafty stuff:

Today I randomly decided to start stitching together some pieces of calico to make a hilly/cloudy thing. The owl (his name is Wol) was carved out of a block of balsa wood with a scalpel. It's my first carved sculpture thing, so it's pretty crude. The grain was running the wrong way, so that didn't help. I made the funny nose man a at the end of last year. He's a little lumpy.

The dude in the box in the 1st post reminds me of Dire Straits 'Money For Nothing' video.

Way back when, I had a feature on my portfolio site where I wanted to showcase more of these tiny "box pixel art pieces"...I never really expanded on it, though.
