South Georgia Motorsports Park Website

I need some feedback on this site.

Keep in mind that the client did not want to spend a lot on their website at this time, so Flash, etc wasn't an option. They just wanted a good basic website. All of the schedules and point standings are in .asp and updateable by the client which is one of the main things that they were after.

Check it out:

It is very 90ish. Every single page has a different style of heading or no heading at all - keep it consitent. Also lose the gray stone background, plain white would work better.

No need for the dropshadows on the images, a nice gray 1px border would look much better.

And the Georgia font doesn't fit a racing site (verdana, or arial would be more appropiate).

IMO, the navigation looks cheesy - I think if you made it all text base naviation 11px font size with just boxes without the verticle pole (bar) in the middle, it would make the site much more uptoday and functional.

The font is actually supposed to be tahoma and it shows up in IE that way. I just looked at it in Mozilla and it is showing up as Times New Roman, so I will have to check that out.

The whole point of the the navigation buttons is to simulate the starting lights at a dragstrip. I knew it would be annoying on every page that is why I only put it on the main page.

Dont be defensive about it. He's saying what he thinks is wrong, not so you can say how much you disagree.

A note on the consistancy, even from small things such as the nav menu you have used a rounded square, but the gradient you have used on the 'Home' and others are two totally different gradients (and I dont mean colour)

Personally I would of used a border on the "Go!!!" also then it would of matched.

IMO I reaally dont like the upward drop* shadow, as that would mean you have a light from below the webpage which IMO just looks bad.

The background tile is like something you would expect to get free with microsoft word...seriously. There are ample website with texture artists and stock photo sites if you so choose to go in that direction.

In the banner keeps moving upwards everytime I go onto a new page. Might wanna fix that.

I think maybe some serious re-thought and maybe actually developing the site before making it?

I wasn't disagreeing, just trying to explain what I was thinking when I chose to do it that way.

Got the fonts fixed. Should look a little better in Mozilla now.

lose the:
-grey background texture
-gradiants
-drop shadows on the pictures
-border on the table

also:
-consitent on the fonts (arial and times new roman appear on different pages)
-navigation should be possible without returning to the original page.

i know its for drag racing in south geogia but does it really have to look like it?
