well as of yet I have had nothing to do with the actual layout of this site.. I have been working more on gathering content. But none the less I think its really cool. Please tell me what you think of my schools new website layout, be brutal if you deem it necessary. http://www.chapelhillhigh.com |

I am so astounded by your input.. please keep in mind this is a "school website" meaning we have people watching everything that is done and asking questions at every turn. It is basic and will remain basic for some time. |

Is it a vetinary school? Why the paw prints? It's [in my opinion] the epitomy of Front Page. A school site has, i know, got to be basic, formal, simple, and tame. But it doesn't have to be shit.... Mind you...here's my school's: click click |

well, just to inform you, it was laid out in photoshop then cut up and hand coded by one person in two class periods, which is about 3 hours. Now the paw prints, school mascot is a panther, the Administration wanted it worked in. And please keep it down.. if my principle heard you say "frontpage" she would get over excited and demand that the site was up immediately.. b/c she is insane and loves Microsoft.. As for your schools website, I believe it needs some work, frames?? come on... and a color scheme.. looks like the angelfire, freebies all the way site.. If school Administration would take a step back and let people work, they would be amazed by what was produced.. but they need to have a hand in everything don't they? |

yeh same here. Mate, you've got awfully low standards and a very up-yourself way of talking about your shit. Most websites i do take a couple of hours to put out once i've got the idea in my head. As for my schools website - i agree it's very poor. but i had and have nothing to do with it. It's run by the head of the I.T Department. And don't use the old "it's the client's fault" excuse. It's just a crap, badly made website. |

I am not really a good web designer, you can tell that from my website (link in my sig). But here are my comments. 1. CHHS name on top is kinda cheesy, and too "usual". 2. Uhm paw prints for a School Website is a no no. It looks like a personal website and a school website should look formal. 3. Color theme should be more formal. The color could be fine if you combine them in a formal way. I can suggest any but you could.. 4. Change the layout 5. Navigation look like those navigation of "help" of programs. Change it if you may. |

Thank you, constructive criticism is always nice.. Now not to deny anything, the site leaves much to be improved. But people need to understand that the site is exactly how administration wants it, and they have extremely poor taste. But if you saw the old site you would know why I like this one so much more. The only thing that it changing, as of now, is the CHHS text at the top. I agree that more should be done, but what little power I have is being tested. Now some of you might be thinking my school can't produce quality websites so here are a couple that we have received awards for: http://pd.c1tadel.com/ http://teams.webchallenge.org/ChapelHill1/ If those both suck.. then I guess my school should stop dead. |
