Hybrid
Right. Trying to create an in-house CSS/html hybrid. Still fiddling about with it. Appreciate it if any of you could give any pointers as it had to be done quick and might have overlooked a few things. Thanks. http://www.amacharityservices.com (apolegies if you've seen this somewhere else already) K. 8) |

Slapped wrist for not externalising the js and css. Kicked shin for not going with any DTD and presenting a unified front re: standards. Is there any particular reason you seem to have gone for the HTML 3 approach? Do the visitor stats for that company really point to the need to support antiquated browsers (v3)? Is this purely a mockup/first draft? Or is it just that someone hasn't been paying attention in class. --- • I'd be strongly inclined to move it all up to HTML 4.01 Transitional at least. (sub-text: If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.) • I'd be inclined to either extend it across the full width of the window or have it horizontally centered. Having it stuffed into the left as it is at the moment it throws the balance and focus of the window out of whack. (imho) • Spacing above the logo seems a bit cramped (compared to the spacing to the left and below it) • I'd be inclined to'activate' the text links with some use of the a:hover pseudo-class. There's possibly more nits I could pick, but I only had a quick fly-by. |

This pretty much a final version. I've used Ultradev (aka DW3) that's why nothing is externalised. No doctype yet as I'm waiting for feedback as to see which one to use. Catchment area has to be big considering the charities involved. Been thinking about centering the whole things but feel I might be running into problems on 800X 600. The logo sits the way it does as per corporate guidelines. Thanks for the feedback Stewart. |
