Logo concepts (please critique)

Dear friends,
I've asked to redesign an image for company named RenderX (www.renderx.com). They want to reposition themselves as a company who does solutions for quality print output from different sources, such as database reporting, PDF onflight creations.
Please help to see which one of the new concepts i've attached or their currnet one is better talks to "quality typography" or "quality output" keywords.
Thank you in advance
Mika

The last one reminds me of Xerox somehow. Which might be a good thing. I think it's also the one that I associate with quality the most.

The one above the last looks good as well. I would maybe have given the X a thicker outline, or just made the whole X red or black.

It's just a matter of preference (and company image) I think. 3rd looks friendly, 4th looks slick. Can't decide. Overall: well done m8, really professional (I guess you are )

none of them really read renderX (apart from the first one).
it is very obvious to play with the x but maybe too obvious.
think how many companies have a 'funked up' X in the logo - just because an X in the name..!

also, remember that a (good) logo has to work in monochrome. design monochrome first and then play with colours.

too Xerox influenced, though if they are Xerox accredited and using their kit, then maybe that's not a bad thing, though I am not sure if any of them work.

I, sadly, though I use VIPP rather than XML, work in this area and I have to say that their current website and logo are very similar to just about every other company in this area.

Dear friends,
thank you very much for your comments.
dorian, i do 100% agree with you, except client wants that X, and besides this i really dont like the name "renderX". I was trying to make something like this <render>X</render>
this exactly describes what they are doing.
Thank you very much again.
