More of an insult on the local industry actually. All of our local competition uses joomla templates, and doesn't design them themselves. I'll take into account the way it could be taken though.

Well maybe you should make it specific, or name and shame if you know of instances, or just sell your services on their strengths without resorting to insulting others. You can say you produce original non template designs without implying anyone else does. Or you could I suppose say unlike some of our competitors.

But honestly, the last thing I'd want to see on a business site is someone slagging off the competition directly, especially with such a blanket statement. Leave it to the politicians eh?

Not that great but I've seen far worse.

The code is horrible though, why make those paragraphs lists?

Why not make them lists. After all, I am listing what we can do. Right now all that's on there is some filler content, but once I convert it to wordpress, I'm going to have more than two items on it.

I think the layout has a lot of potential, but I don't think much else is working.

The green color doesn't go with the logo, and the header text just fades away. Your drop shadow in the header is pretty schody as well.

I don't understand the black bar at the very top, and the 'light burst' seems unnecessary.

I really like the slider, but I think the controls need to be much more obvious, for less experience web users.

But the most glaring problem is the green.

EDIT:

Seeing as we are working on the same project, I thought I'd submit my design as well. I'd appreciate any input that you guys have.

Link to design.

Instead of "What can we do for you?" why not say "What we can do for you!"

Why not a simple contact form in the header oppose to just phone/email. And you don't really need the title "INFORMATION". Information isn't an effective title and most people can tell what an adress looks like when they see it Why not replace it with "contact us"

Having the contact form in the body right column is repetitive and a waste of valuable space for something important.

The site feels like you just took a bit of content you had and started designing. I don't see any marketing strategy. This site will result in a really low conversion rate. Visitors vs Sales.

Your work shows potential, always room for improvement. Keep trying.

That's the way photoshop does it. When it's html it won't be.

You took some of my advice Thanks, I think that looks better.

How would it look like if:

Wordpress
as a CMS

oppose to

Wordpress as a
CMS

I definitely like your design / color / use of graphics a lot better.

I like the overall design, but the navigation could use some sort of a mouseover effect other than underline. Also, the gray icons int he About section have to go they standout way to much to where they look out of place.

Yeah,

I think I'll just do a text color change instead. I was hoping to use the icons in the design, what do you think about just lightening the color of them?
