To round up what has been said, and to give my own opinion

Stripes as the background, seems dated, and un-necessary

The kerning in the logo isn't right, and the logo itself isn't great.

Personally I feel that the 'Design, print & multimedia services' sub title is in the wrong place, your eyes are naturally drawn to the title and then the info below it, while this is on the far right. However it might unbalance the page moving it, other peoples advice would be good on this matter.

If I was looking for your services I personally wouldn't give two fucks about 'the company' box until I have seen your work and read about your services, this needs to be moved elsewhere, or as suggested onto a different page.

The google map is HUGE, and on my screen (and hence many peoples) the contact details are well below the fold. Maybe change the information above a smaller google map. This however will make the page look even more bland.

The services is very long winded (though well written) and just alot of text. With the titles barely standing out.

For completion I feel (while very small and not important) the tel/fax/mob information should be lined up more in sync so that each of the numbers starts at the same place.

I dont have enough knowledge on typography, though Im sure someone can tell you how to improve it.

Marksk01, thank you for your advice. The kind of info I am looking for, with elaborate opinions instead of one-liners. Cheers.

Really? I thought you wanted no commentary on the design and edited your first post to say exactly that.

All of what he said has been mentioned previously really.

I just said what everyone else has already said and picked up a few more things I had noticed (which are minor compared to the other points)

If the stuff that has been mentioned isn't up to you to edit, contact those who it is up to and give them a list of what needs to be changed.

Oh and I will outright say that my knowledge is very lacking, and I am just good at reading other peoples comments. People like Maerk have a much broader and better knowledge.

I checked out your code, and everything is very nice and clean which I would like to applaud you for. Also, I am huge supporter of the 960 Grid System, I use it on 3 of my sites at the moment.

As for web standards, I did notice 137 warning, but no errors, good job. Technically it is valid with 0 errors, but clearing up warnings is always a good idea when you want it to be perfect.

Great Job!

ATLChris,

Thank you. How did you check for web standards errors, instead of "mere" validation errors? What tools would you use? Thank you.

The thing is, you don't really show what it is that your company does and why people should use your services. I really dislike the company information and how it spans across two columns. It looks like you need text wrap or something because my eyes keep reading and then I just stop because it's just too long.

Not having links is a big issue as well because the user at first visit is confused and therefore most likely will just leave. There is no sense of direction for the user and there are tons of great ways to tackle an entire website with the use of ONE page.

Again, there is no work on the page either so if I was a potential client I definitely would not even bother contacting you. It's like having a Ferrari dealership and selling cars without having any on your lot. The whole 'trust me I'm good even though I don't have any work to show you' mentality doesn't work anymore.

Like the guy above me said I definitely dig the fact that you've implemenetd the 960gs on your website, I love it and most to all my sites (most recently) run on that kind of a system. I think it works well for page composition and people can appreciate that.

Your style of design is a bit dated (I know you just coded the website) especially with the diagonal 'scan lines'.

Here are 88 single page websites that you can offer for reference to your designer (you, your company, whatever): instantshift.com/2009/06/10/88-single-page-website-designs-for-design-inspiration/
