-Nothing on that page looks like it's clickable.

-At the very very top, and down a little where the contact info is...do I see embossing? If so, find another way to make it "look pretty" try using a simple, subtle gradient.

-The entire top header part is too big. There is a lot of wasted space which will make your visitors have to scroll down to see all of the content.

-The "logo" (okay, name of the company) is boring and doesn't stand out from the surrounding text much.

-The list of company names in each of the four boxes looks yucky. Maybe get each company's logo and put them there (organized and evenly spaced, of course). Also, I noticed the list is the same each time...maybe you could put something like "We carry products by NEC, Toshiba, etc..." one time near the top, underneath the header, and above the white boxes.

Sorry I should have mentioned - the content is not the real stuff - just there to fill in space until they provide me with the official info! Each item will have different makes - i.e. projectors will be made by infocus, epson but whiteboards by others if you catch my drift!!!

There is ABSOLUTELY NO embossing or anything like that! I think that looks like it due to poor image resolution!

The clickable section will be made more obvious when it is actually a website rather than a simple screenplan image.

And finally - the justification for the large top menu is becuase that is where the navigation and stuff will be!!

Thanks

I argee the font is bad, to much text over all, needs more shaps, and colors. Also add layer styles to make it look a little better. Its kinda plan with just white, blue and alot of text and a stuff. All you have seem to have done is made some layer colors and use the text tool alot. Add some more flar to it . But thats just my point of view.

What the hell are people using to optimise their images? In Photoshop 'noise' is usually something you have to swich on... watch out for that in the final stage Matthew!

(this was not off topic, was it?)

Yeah sorry about the 'noise' - It was a good quality jpg but dreamweaver kept on 'not responding' when I tried to upload it so got bored and made a gif!

Sorry again!

You also could have tryed a jpg, they are bigger then a gif, but they can have more colors, but im sure you new that already. But I dont think you would have the problems you had with the gif.

not always... the size of a jpg depends very much on the amount of detail in the picture. The more detail the bigger the jpg
So for example if you have crisp text in your picture and not so many colours - it would be best to make it a gif as the size would be smaller and the quality better.
sorry for preaching.

There's just not much to it...no depth, too much text, etc. I agree that the font is garbage. I think you should try a few more options or maybe even add a few more fonts (1 or 2). Maybe it will look different when you have actual HTML text in place of the image text.

Also, top right, I wouldn't stagger those four words. I would have them even justified left above the plasma screen. It looks too chaotic the way it is now.

Finally, the top left (logo?) area. I think "Audio Visual Services" should be justified right at the end of the bar under AVS Northern.
