new PHP Tutorial site - feedback welcomed!

I've recently finished work on a PHP tutorial site, and I'm just looking for any feedback people might have, or constructive criticism, especially relating to usability and first impressions

The Rough Guide to PHP

Cheers!

in ie 6 the main content is below your left sidebar...........
Also your google ads are about rough guide to traveling so I don't think you'll get that many clicks on them as it's not relevant.

Noted. I just saw that just now, must be the use of the sitename in the page title and elsewhere. Hopefully some changes to the text will stop the irrelevant ads. I think the IE6 error should be cleared up now

I wouldn't know about the content but visually it looks very dated.

Odd use of photography for the header, has no relation to PHP. The background image is too distracting and quite ugly.

Don't mean to sound harsh, but it's not going to attract many visitors.

Maybe have a look at some other tutorial sites out there. You don't need to create something amazing, but at least something that's bearable. Take Web Development & Design Tutorials - NETTUTS as an example, its well structured and visually it's simple and easy on the eye.

You need to work more on your layout design.
The background image is disturbing.
Try another color scheme ... (blue, light blue etc ...)
My 2 cents :-)
